We’ve already had a few days that felt like summer, haven’t we?
And summer means Thursday nights at Chase Park with your friends of the Westchester Band. We’ve missed you and can’t wait to see you again soon.
In the meantime, would you like a preview of some of the
music you’ll hear this season?
Many of our members perform year-round with the
Lehman College and Community Band under Maestro Alan Hollander, and we’re excited to invite you to an upcoming concert you won’t want to miss.
Join us on Sunday, May 17 at 2:00 PM in Lehman’s Lovinger Theater for a free performance featuring Suite of Old American Dances (Robert Russell Bennett), Deep River (Benjamin Horne), and Eternal Flame (Brian Balmages), along with other favorites. The program also includes a special performance of the Chaminade Concertino for Flute and Band by this year’s
Jerome Sala Memorial Competition winner, and concludes with
Sousa’s beloved Stars and Stripes Forever.
It’s a terrific program, perfectly paired with a visit to
Arthur Avenue for lunch or dinner. We hope you’ll join us!
